Dementia

Experts in dementia studies from the University of Bradford have modernised Health Education England’s online dementia courses – ensuring the perspective and experience of people living with dementia and their family members is central to the learning.

The programme offers a range of research and best practice from the UK and internationally to ensure excellence in person-centred dementia care. It addresses the Prime Minister’s Challenge on dementia by ensuring a compassionate, coordinated and person-centred approach to dementia care from diagnosis to end of life.

The sessions offer a rich learning experience through use of high-quality videos of personal experiences, interactive quizzes and opportunities for self-reflection.

Professor Murna Downs, Chair in Dementia Studies at the University of Bradford, said: “We are proud to play our part in directly addressing the prime Minister’s Challenge on Dementia 2020 by supporting all those who care for people living with dementia and their family members, from diagnosis through to end of life”.
