eSurgery will offer around 800 sessions of e-learning structured into 19 modules.

These modules will cover:

  • eSurgery imageBasic science knowledge relevant to surgical practice
  • Common surgical conditions
  • Basic surgical skills
  • The principles of assessment and management of the surgical patient
  • Peri-operative care of the surgical patient
  • Assessment and early treatment of the patient with trauma
  • Surgical care of the paediatric patient
  • Management of the dying patient
  • Organ and tissue transplantation
  • Professional behaviour and leadership skills
  • The elements of the nine surgical specialities

Each session of e-learning will take around 20 minutes to complete to fit in with busy work-study schedules. All of the material will be interactive and will use multimedia features such as video, audio and animation.
