e-Learning for Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDT) will support all NHS staff involved in cancer MDTs to help them to provide high quality cancer care. It is delivered by e-Learning for Healthcare (e-LfH) in partnership with the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges (AoMRC).
Once established, the e-learning resource will play an important part in the support and development of the role of MDTs in cancer care in the UK.
Training in effective MDT working will be required by all trainee doctors who are likely to participate in cancer MDTs and evidence of effective MDT practice will also form part of the revalidation requirements for clinical specialists.
The MDT e-learning project supports the recommendations identified in a report produced by the AoMRC Intercollegiate Cancer Committee entitled “Educational Initiatives to Improve the Effectiveness of Cancer Multidisciplinary Teams”.
