The NHS Newborn and Infant Physical Examination (NIPE) Screening Programme’s eLearning resources have been updated following a change to national NIPE standards and guidance (published April 2024). The new resources are available now for healthcare clinicians who undertake NIPE screening (or are involved in the NIPE screening pathway) in the NHS in England.
The NIPE e Learning Units are:
- Introduction to population screening
- Unit 1: Screening and the Newborn and Infant physical examination (NIPE)
- Unit 2: Screening examination of the eyes
- Unit 3: Screening examination of the cardiovascular system
- Unit 4: Screening examination of the hips
- Unit 5: Screening examination of the testes
- Unit 6: Further information for NIPE practitioners
- Unit 7: Assessment session
The training offers healthcare professionals working on NIPE access to tailored interactive learning based on the latest evidence.
