Over recent years, people have increasingly turned to the Internet for their learning. This trend has been accelerated by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, as the lockdown has stopped any travel to training events.
Health Education England e-Learning for Healthcare (HEE e-LfH) has been one of the sites the health and care workforce have turned to in order to upskill themselves as a result of the pandemic. This has been reflected in the usage figures on the e-LfH Hub.
The last three months have each set a new record for sessions launched on the e-LfH Hub.
March saw 932,386 launches, which was a minor increase on the previous monthly record.
April saw huge usage on the new Coronavirus (COVID-19) programme that was released in response to the outbreak and, along with usage of other e-LfH programmes, there were 1,913,568 launches in total.
May, boosted by HEE e-LfH’s training support for the national NHS Test and Trace service, saw a further increase to 2,492,056 launches.
Martin Sinclair, Programme Lead for HEE e-LfH, said: “I’m delighted to see evidence of the role the e-LfH Hub and the e-LfH team have played in supporting the workforce over the last few months.
“It has been a challenging time for everyone and I’m glad that we could play our part. I’m really proud of the e-LfH team; their attitude and professionalism has been brilliant throughout.”
