The Pre-registration Pharmacist Supervisor Training (tutor) Training programme provides 6 e-learning sessions to support new pharmacy pre-registration tutors in delivering educational supervision from day one. The programme aims to educate or refresh pre-registration tutors of the knowledge and skills required to provide effective supervision to pre-registration pharmacist trainees as they progress through their one-year pre-registration training programme.
Tutors need to provide trainees with clinical, educational and pastoral support and guidance. A pre-registration tutor must be equipped with the skills to provide the right level of support, so that the trainee can successfully move from being a pharmacy graduate to a qualified pharmacist, who can then go on to register for the GPhC (General Pharmaceutical Council) and join the pharmacy profession.
