About the Primary Care Cancer Care Coordinator Training programme

The following programme has been developed by Wessex Cancer Alliance to assist the development and knowledge acquisition regionally and national of the expanding Cancer Care Coordinator Workforce.

This module aligns to the cancer priorities within the Primary care Network Contract Directed Enhanced Service (DES) Contract and the NHS Long term Plan.

The module will cover the following topics:

  • Prevention
  • Screening
  • Early Diagnosis

Tackling health inequalities will also be a running theme throughout this module.

This training may be of interest to other Primary care roles that are involved in the pre-diagnosis point of the cancer pathway.   This includes, but is not limited to: Digital Care coordinators, GP Assistants and Social Prescribers.
