September update – new e-learning sessions for radiographers, radiologists and breast clinicians are available

Rachel Gowland, 28 September 2020
National Breast Imaging Academy

In May 2020, the National Breast Imaging Academy (NBIA), in partnership with Health Education England e-Learning for Healthcare (e-LfH), launched their e-learning programme for radiographers, radiologists and breast clinicians.  This is the fifth monthly update about the programme.

e-Learning sessions are part of the NBIA’s aim to provide online learning to complement face-to-face clinical training.  The sessions are designed to support trainees in breast imaging and to provide valuable continuing professional development (CPD) resources for all qualified staff.

The full programme of e-learning sessions is due to launch in late 2020, but many sessions are available now, to support your training needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.

What’s new?

There are over 75 NBIA e-learning sessions available on the e-LfH Hub.  The eleven latest sessions include:

  • Advanced Ultrasound Techniques 2: Microbubbles
  • Assessment of Risk of Breast Cancer and How This Determines Management
  • Day in the Life of a Breast Clinician
  • Day in the Life of a Histopathologist
  • Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (Physics and Technique)

  • Principles of Ultrasound-guided Intervention
  • Positron Emission Tomography (PET)
  • Risk Factors for Breast Cancer
  • Ultrasound-guided Localisation Techniques

Additional sessions will be added to the e-learning catalogue as soon as they are ready.

What can I expect from the e-learning sessions?

The interactive e-learning sessions cover a wide range of topics on breast imaging and relevant aspects of surgery, oncology, pathology, nursing, and risk and prevention.

In addition to the recently added e-learning sessions listed above, you can also access:
