About the programme

Are you part of a maternity multi-disciplinary team looking for innovative ways to meet the National Maternity safety ambition?

Do you want to improve your knowledge of how the law of negligence applies to clinical claims and your decision-making?

If so you will find NHS Resolution’s module, containing engaging illustrative case studies, a valuable learning tool to support you to explore how clinical decisions impact on the quality and safety of maternity care provided, and how the law of negligence applies to clinical claims and decisions.

Created by clinicians for clinicians and in collaboration with our Academic Partners Staffordshire University and London South Bank University, this essential module also supports learners to understand the Early Notification Scheme, which is operated by NHS Resolution.

The eLearning module is a safe space to explore areas where clinicians may be vulnerable from a litigation perspective. The module is aimed at obstetricians, gynaecologists, midwives and neonatologists or those studying these specialities.

Session 1 – Introduction

  • Introduction to the law of negligence as applied to clinical claims
