New ACCEND eLearning Hub for supportive and assistive workforce

Posted on: May 6th, 2025 by Charlotte Murray No Comments

The aspirant cancer career and education development (ACCEND) programme in partnership with the NHS England Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) team has launched a new eLearning toolkit designed to support and inspire those working in supportive and assistive roles to increase their knowledge and awareness of cancer.

The toolkit contains guidance, resources and key learning opportunities created for those working within supportive and assistive roles, such as cancer support workers, cancer navigators, healthcare assistants and therapy support workers employed in various settings. It is also suitable for those working within nursing, allied health professional teams, administrative and pharmacy teams who would like to progress into more cancer specific roles.

The ACCEND programme is a cancer career and education development programme that supports aspirant cancer nurses and allied health professionals towards increasing their knowledge, skills and capability. The programme aims to increase and improve the supply of the cancer health care professional workforce in the future. It also provides the existing cancer workforce with access to the education and training needed to match the competencies required for their role.

You can find out more about the ACCEND programme, the national framework and the supportive and assistive toolkit on the eLfH website.
