TEL News October

The October issue of TEL News is now available and includes updates from across the programme.

Read more about the newly refreshed Virtual Reality resources for Allied Health Professionals developed by the Simulation and Immersive Technologies team and find out details of two monthly meetings for Extended Reality in Education and Digital Innovation in Health and Care Education. There is just under a month until the Four Nation AI in Healthcare Conference – please register for a place if you would like to attend.

The Virtual and Hybrid Learning faculty will celebrate its 4th Anniversary in November. New best practice learning resources have been added to their library and an exciting new episode has been published on their Inside TEL Podcast Series. The platform team continue to support those using the competency frameworks service on the DLS with a number of frameworks now being live.

There is also the usual round up from across the programme including the foundation programme update and new courses.

IV Therapy Passport Course Moving to the Learning Hub

The current version of the IV Therapy Passport course will soon be updated and moved to the Learning Hub.

If you have already started this course, please make sure you complete all 7 modules by 31 October 2025 and download and save your certificates as soon as possible. Once the course moves to the Learning Hub, you will no longer be able to access or download certificates from this version.

If you have not yet started the course, please wait for the new, updated version, which will be available in early November 2025. We will share further details and access information soon.

Foundation Programme Update - October

One of the most important skills that a resident doctor can develop is to know the limits of their competence.

Available in the elearning for healthcare Foundation Programme (2021 curriculum) – the following sessions cover areas in your curriculum on; FPC 1: Clinical Assessment, FPC 2: Clinical Prioritisation, FPC 3: Holistic Planning, FPC 4: Communication and Care, FPC 5: Continuity of Care, FPC 6: Sharing the Vision, FPC 9: Quality Improvement and FPC 12: Continuing Professional Development:

HORUS and TURAS have deep links to elearning for healthcare sessions from the Foundation Curriculum and therefore accessible to all trainees, making it quicker and easy to access the appropriate session linked to the curriculum.

New elearning session available on Managing Severe ME/CFS

A new training session is now available in the Myalgic Encephalomyelitis or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) elearning course. The new session is titled Managing Severe ME/CFS and is the third training in the series.

The Managing Severe ME/CFS session offers guidance to healthcare professionals who support, or have an interest in, the management of people living with severe and very severe ME/CFS.

It provides practical, evidence-based recommendations in 4 key areas: strategies for care in the community, nutritional support and risk management, managing risk in hospital care and pharmaceutical support.

The session is available to people working in NHS, government and educational sectors, and the training can be accessed through the NHS Learning Hub.

Please ensure that you complete the first two sessions in the elearning programme before moving onto the new third session. The first sessions are: An introduction to ME/CFS and ME/CFS: guidance for community-based healthcare practitioners.
