Elearning sessions available for radiographers, radiologists and breast clinicians

There are over 135 National Breast Imaging Academy (NBIA) elearning sessions available on the elfh hub. These interactive elearning sessions for radiographers, radiologists and breast clinicians cover a wide range of topics on breast imaging and relevant aspects of surgery, oncology, pathology, nursing, and risk and prevention.

The latest sessions include Legislation and Guidance and Training and Support for Breast Clinicians. In addition to the recently added elearning sessions listed above, you can also access:

  • Biological Effects of Radiation
  • Maintaining Skin Integrity in Mammography
  • Basic Physics and How Ultrasound Works
  • Ultrasound Artefacts
  • Radiopathological Correlation of the Normal Axilla
  • Multidisciplinary Team-working
  • Mentoring and Preceptorship (Radiography)
  • Assessment Before Risk-reducing Surgery

Additional sessions will be added to the elearning catalogue as soon as they are ready.

New elearning sessions available for radiographers, radiologists and breast clinicians

In May 2020, the National Breast Imaging Academy (NBIA), in partnership with Health Education England elearning for healthcare (elfh), launched their elearning programme for radiographers, radiologists and breast clinicians.  This is the tenth update about the programme.

Accessed by over 850 practitioners across the UK, the elearning programme consistently receives positive feedback.

  • “Good content especially for those just learning to carry out these procedures.”
  • “I am thrilled with the NBIA, during COVID and lockdown our radiographic staff were able to use it for CPD.”
  • “Very informative, great for anyone looking at working within a breast imaging department.”
  • “Good interactive tool. Videos were helpful and added to the overall learning experience.”

Dr Megan Bydder, the NBIA’s Clinical Lead for the elfh programme, said: “We are really pleased with the take-up of the resources and the positive reaction from users.  Thanks to the breast imaging community who helped us to develop and test the elearning sessions at a rapid pace, we’ve been able to support ongoing learning across the profession during a very challenging time.”

New elearning for radiographers, radiologists and breast clinicians available

In May 2020, the National Breast Imaging Academy (NBIA), in partnership with Health Education England elearning for healthcare (elfh), launched their elearning programme for radiographers, radiologists and breast clinicians.  This is the eighth monthly update about the programme.

The full programme of elearning sessions is due to be completed in early 2021 to support your training needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.

August update – New e-learning session for radiographers, radiologists and breast clinicians is available

In May 2020, the National Breast Imaging Academy (NBIA), in partnership with Health Education England elearning for healthcare (elfh), launched their elearning programme for radiographers, radiologists and breast clinicians.  This is the fourth monthly update about the programme.

elearning sessions are part of the NBIA’s aim to provide online learning to complement face-to-face clinical training.  The sessions are designed to support trainees in breast imaging and to provide valuable continuing professional development (CPD) resources for all qualified staff.

The full programme of elearning sessions is due to launch in late 2020, but many sessions are available now, to support your training needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.

What’s new?

There are 65 elearning sessions available on the elfh Hub.  The latest session to be added is:

  • Further Mammographic Views

Additional sessions will be added to the elearning catalogue as soon as they are ready.
