Health Education England elearning for healthcare (HEE elfh) has worked with the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID) to develop a new elearning session for the All Our Health programme.

Vulnerabilities and Trauma Informed Practice is aimed at frontline health and care professionals to help them use their trusted relationships with individuals, families and communities to address the impact of vulnerabilities.

The session describes the meaning of vulnerabilities, risk factors and trauma informed practice which seeks to address the barriers that those affected by trauma can experience when accessing care and services.

It also highlights actions that healthcare professionals can take to address vulnerability in individuals such as putting measures in place so that individuals feel emotionally and physically safe and being transparent with advice.

The session also signposts to other useful sources of information such as Better Health and Every Mind Matters. It complements the 27 existing sessions within the All Our Health programme which covers a range of public health topics including dementia, falls and fractures and physical activity.

All Our Health also features 5 interactive townscape sessions where learners can click on various buildings, such as the GP surgery and school, to access support on topics such as breastfeeding, childhood obesity and smoking in pregnancy.
