TEL News July

TEL News July is now available and includes updates from across the programme.

Find out more about the Simulation and Immersive Technology team’s work with the RCN on their Prison Nursing Unlocked exhibition, read more about the new new AI learning resource on the learning hub Reflective writing and AI detection; and check out the latest round of Best Practice Learning Resources from the VHLF team. You can also hear more about the exciting developments going on across the Learning Hub including a round up of live and pilot competency frameworks.

More VHLF Best Practice Resources Added

The Virtual and Hybrid Learning Faculty have uploaded additional new resources to their library,  four new Best Practice Learning Resources (BPLRs) have been added to the growing VHLF library, which you can now log in to access.

Log into the Learning Hub and access the BPLRs folder to view the newly added content. Start exploring the BPLR library today — and help spread the word. Not a member of the community, please complete the form to join.

Foundation Programme Update: Supervised Learning Events

Supervised Learning Events (SLEs) are an essential part of your learning in your two foundation years. Do you know how to get the best out of them? Even if you think you do, you could still get more by doing the SLE sessions now at the start of the year.

Putting care first: Transforming statutory and mandatory training – updated sessions

Following updates earlier this year, four additional statutory and mandatory sessions have been reviewed and updated with newly appointed NHSE National Subject Matter Experts (SMEs):

NHSE TEL elearning for healthcare has worked with a range of subject matter experts to develop high quality, national elearning training sessions, which address all the knowledge outcomes at level 1 and at level 2, where appropriate for elearning.

The sessions are freely available to all health and social care staff. Staff will not be required to redo these sessions, but they will be available for people when they renew their training.

Sepsis Awareness Programme New Sessions

Four new elearning sessions are now available in the Sepsis Awareness Programme. Two of the sessions are for Sepsis in Acute Care Settings.

These sessions include Adult Sepsis in Acute Care which gives a series of case studies to highlight different adult sepsis presentations in acute care and the recommended management in line with NICE guidance. The Learning Disability and Sepsis in Acute Care session is also now available. This session discusses the risk factors for sepsis in people with a learning disability, how to help minimise these risks and how to recognise and respond to possible signs of sepsis. Additionally, there are also two new sessions on Managing Maternal Sepsis During and Following Pregnancy. These sessions are essential for anyone working in frontline care as sepsis can be life threatening. Find out more now about all of the new sessions.
